What year did you graduate from RCS? 2013

Which grades did you attend at RCS? K-12 and beyond!

What was your next step after graduating from RCS?
Volunteer at local library, go to Peace Haven “Farm” and starting to work for my brother.

How did you find the transition from RCS to your next phase of life?
It was hard. I loved the routine of school and seeing my teachers and friends.

Are you married? No

What feedback or suggestions do you have for the teachers working with our graduating seniors?
Well, I was the first student with Special Needs at our school and Wilma Hamstra basically took me “from crayons to perfume” along with some wonderful EA’s Jo Heersink, Melanie Tamminga, Corine Postma and Alison Wassink. Melanie taught me to play basic piano and I still enjoy that today!

Do you feel connected to RCS? Please provide a reason for your response.
Yes! That’s my school!

From your perspective, what is the value of an RCS education?
I learned to sing the Psalms (Psalters) and memorized Bible texts and learned lots of Bible stories. I loved getting to know the different Pastors on Chapel days.

What is your favourite memory from RCS?
Learning to read and print! I use that every day! Mr. denBoer and Mr. denHollander were my friends.
